Today, Boatshed has over 600,000 registered customers looking for boats and our website attracts over 260,000 unique visitors each month. We sell more than 1,000 boats each year and have more than 50 branches worldwide. Based upon independent industry statistics, we sell boats twice as quickly as other brokers!

In addition to the benefits of being part of this global network, at Boatshed Grand Union we have the advantage of local knowledge and years of canal brokerage experience. Here are seven of our blog articles that offer help and advice on the best ways to sell your boat.

1) How to Sell Your Boat without Feeling So Sad About It

When life hands you lemons you’re supposed to make lemonade right? Divorce, separation, ill health, or some other unexpected change of circumstances may force you to sell your boat. This blog post offers some tips on how to manage the change.

2) Selling Your Boat Home? How to Readjust to Life Ashore

Selling your boat is not always an easy decision to make, and even less so if the boat is your home. These three tips will apply to those who have lived aboard, and are now planning to begin a new life ashore.

3) 56 Point Boat Check

At Boatshed we are always thinking of ways to help people sell their boats more efficiently and providing a better service to both seller and purchaser. So in September 2014 Boatshed together with the Marine Inspection Association introduced a 56 point boat check, ‘Independent Pre-sale Assessment’ or IPA as a method of having a boat pre-surveyed before being put onto the market.

4) Boat Shows and Festivals

We like to appear at canal festivals and boat shows, offering "Fizz@Five" on our stand everyday for those interested in buying and selling boats. This gives your boat for sale extra exposure in addition to being promoted online and in the waterways press.

5) We work with British Waterways Marinas Ltd

BWML Brokerage services work in partnership with Boatshed.com to provide a specialist brokerage servicefor narrowboats and all that float on the canals. Boatshed is now the exclusive external broker in most of BWML’s 20 locations, available to assist our customers with the sale and purchase of all inland waterway vessels. Not only does Boatshed Grand Union do brokerage but also RYA narrowboat training, so buy a boat and ask about own boat tuition!

6) Inland Boating and Great Canal Journeys

One of the things that makes Boatshed Grand Union work is that Phil, Peggy and Jan are dyed-in-the-wool boaters. They own boats, live on boats and work on boats. They love to cruise and they love to “play” boats. At work, Jan and Phil are both RYA Instructors and Licensed MCA Boatmasters. In our brokerage we love to match the right boat to the right buyer, to help and give advice. For customers new to boating we can train them and continue to help and advice as they start their waterways adventures Read more about Why Phil Chose Boatshed.
