Broker's Comments
This 52ft Spray pilot house ketch was designed by Nautical Architect Bruce Roberts and we understand that she was built in 2000 by a Foreman at Sunseeker and some Sunseeker components can be seen on the boat.
However, unfortunately she has so far not been completed or ever sailed the oceans of the world as intended.
She is constructed with a 10mm steel hull (8mm on original design ) and 8mm superstructure (6mm on design) and the quality of the hull is evident to see.
The current owner has started to finish this project and since taking ownership he has completed the following work:
Following a full inspection of the hull for rust (none found as advised by the current owner ) he then proceeded to give her 2 further mid coats and 3 top coats of Jotun Mastic, plus she has two further coats of Jotun Seaforce antifoul below the waterline.
New Marleon seacocks have been fitted throughout and she was launched for the first time around December 2017.
The current owner has continued to modify and fit her out to a high standard for a Cruising Yacht and this includes house electrics, heating, mastervolt 3000w invertor / charger, 4 x 200am batteries, LED lights throughout and some plumbing.
The owner has also purchased a mizzen mast and the sails for the mast. Additionally, he has stainless steel rigging for the mizzen and the main, when purchased.
Although time and money still needs to be spent finishing her, once complete she will be a very spacious yacht that could be lived on for long periods of time with plenty of storage for all your gear.
As the new owner with the vision to complete this Bruce Roberts 52 Ketch, if she is finished to a high standard, this yacht has the potential to be a very nice looking boat and could even be an investment.
There are several Bruce Roberts 52 or similar (older years) for sale at the moment which are being advertised in excess of £200K.
The owner has just paid the berthing fees for the new season at a cost of £4k. This fees are now paid up until 31st of March 2019. This can be included within the sale of this boat.
These boat details are subject to contract.
Note: Offers on the asking price may be considered.
