Broker's Comments

Founded in 1898, Broom Boats of Brundall is one of the oldest boatyards in Norfolk and is still in operation today on the same site. Originally building 'beautifully crafted sailing cruisers for gentlemen', over the decades they transitioned to motor cruisers and are well known worldwide for their quality build standards and attention to detail.

The Broom 35 Sedan was initially designed as a single level cruiser but was adapted, with a flybridge version following. They were categorised by a the large deck level saloon, an ideal area for entertaining and became extremely popular with 71 boats built up until 1984. Spacious cabins with lots of storage make her comfortable for extended cruising or living aboard and the 200hp Ford Mermaid engines give her planing hull a good turn of speed.

Stepping aboard, (so easy through the opening transom door) you get the feeling of a classic Broom but with subtle modern touches. She feels dry and fresh, the galley and heads smart and clean and the saloon is light with great visibility all around. Both the deck and the flybridge seem safe and solid as you move around and the sunshade makes the aft deck a great space for sitting and watching the world go by.

There's a long list of upgrades (particularly electrics) undertaken over the last couple of years alongside regular servicing and maintenance by experienced owners which, alongside the original Broom quality, makes this boat, in my opinion, a really nice example.
