De la plume de Langevin et sortie du chantier Metalu en 1979 ce ketch, cutter est d’une conception hauturière (1ère catégorie) et d’une construction particulièrement robuste en aluminium AG4 d'une semelle de 16mm jusqu'aux bordés supérieurs en 5mm. . Destiné aux esprits aventuriers le pique avant est enfermé derrière une cloison étanche. Le pont et cockpit central sont très sécurisants c’est un bateau qui vous invite au large mais qui a déjà participé à des regattes y compris les Voiles de St. Tropez.
A cutter rigged ketch designed by Langevin and massively constructed in AG4 aluminium by the respected Metalu yard in 1979. Plate thickness is from 16mm keel base to 5mm superstructure this Jade 48 was designed and constructed as a rugged long distance cruising yacht to take the family off to distant horizons. The forepeak is separated from the rest by a watertight bulkhead, the almost flush decks make for ease of movement and all lines are lead back to the reassuring center cockpit. The whole vessel exudes an air of rugged purposeful construction but has also participated in regattas including the Voiles de St. Tropez.

Le salon est accédé par un couloir tribord avec deux couchettes simples 55 x 1.95. Quant à lui, le carré est lumineux avec jusqu’à 2.05m d’hauteur sous barrot et huit hublots plus une sortie de secours. Table de navigation à tribord et cuisine pratique et marin sur bâbord. Four plus deux feux, deux éviers et bon plan de travail. La deuxième cabine double se trouve en arrière bâbord avec son lit de 1.30 x 2.00. Plus en avant se trouve un deuxième W.C. avec douche, encore des rangements et le pique avant, derrière sa cloison étanche.
Aft is the full width owners cabin with en suite heads and shower and huge dressing cum bureau and a 1.45 x 1.90 double bed. Hanging lockers and cupboards abound. Forward to starboard is the corridor access to the main saloon and two single bunks 55 x 1.95 are located here with lee-cloths. Once in the main saloon the chart table and navigation station are immediately to starboard whilst the galley is to port with good worktops, storage and a gimbled, two burners, gas cooker with oven plus the luxury of twin deep sinks. Aft to port is the second double cabin with a 1.30 x 2.00m double bed. The main saloon is spacious light and bright with up to 2.05 of headroom and 8 portholes and a Houdini hatch for natural light. Forward again takes us to a heads with shower to port, a storage cupboard starboard and through the watertight bulkhead into the forepeak workshop cum store. All new cushion foam and covers throughout.

By the time I left I was wondering how on earth I could find a way to buy it!! Metalu have a reputation for building strong no-nonsense long distance cruising yachts and after visiting this example it’s easy to see why. We have documented history from construction to date. This boat really deserves to be back on the high seas and is priced accordingly! Take a good look at the photos and judge for yourself but don’t wait too long to bring your offer. On dit qu’il ne faut pas jugez un livre par sa couverture et j’avoue qu’à première vue je me suis demandé comment j’allais vendre ce bateau. Après l’avoir visité j’étais en train de me demander comment j’allais pouvoir l’acheter !! Metalu ont été réputé pour leur construction en alu. costaud et marin et ici on voit pourquoi. Dans l’impossibilité de partir loin et pour longtemps, notre client a décidé de laisser quelqu'un d’autre en profiter. Ne tardez-pas de venir avec une offre !
