We are pleased to announce that another new member has recently joined the Boatshed Grand Union team. Peggy Melmoth will be handling some of the administration and email enquiries, welcoming new clients, liaising with vendors, and updating the Boatshed Grand Union blog.

Peggy has fifteen years experience of working in administration and has lived aboard a narrowboat for eleven years. She shares a beautiful 70 foot trad narrowboat (purchased through Boatshed Grand Union) with her husband and two young daughters on the Grand Union Canal. Both of their children were born at home on the boat and the second baby arrived so suddenly that she had to be delivered by Peggy’s husband before the midwives arrived!

Peggy’s past career has included managing a music recording studio, working as an accounts assistant at Friends of the Earth, NHS medical secretary, office manager in a neurosurgical operating theatre and clinical hypnotherapist. She also has a degree in animation. She now works from home as a freelance secretary and writes a personal blog called Narrowboat Wife
She has contributed articles to www.waterscape.com and Towpath Talk newspaper and recently completed the first draft of her memoir, The Real Life of a Narrowboat Wife.

Peggy is really looking forward to combining her work experience with her love of canals and narrowboats.
