Access to the engine compartment requires lifting a pair of loose, unhinged hatches in the saloon sole. The port one is hefty, the starboard one not so bad as it does not extend so far forward. These give good access to the main service points around both engines, helped by the fact that the wing fuel tanks are not to tight on them and that the fuel filters are clear of any obstructions. The engineering behind the installation appears very sound.

In November 1998, with Iain Smallridge as Managing Director, the first Pearl motor yacht was launched in Southampton - the Pearl 45. Over the next four years the Pearl 43 and Pearl 41 joined the range.
In January 2000 Pearl Motor Yachts relocated to Stratford-upon-Avon and in 2002 Tony Whittaker became the chairman. An engineer by profession and many years as a highly respected RYA instructor and boat owner, Tony and his wife Margaret brought with them the passion, knowledge and desire to take Pearl to the next level.. and beyond.

Saloon-
Steps leading down to the saloon from the aft deck are well spaced, and benefit from an adjacent handrail. The sideboard to port has a useful selection of cupboards and shelves as well as a cocktail bar. Seating runs round in a shallow U-shape to starboard and there are also lockers within the seat base.
Interior helm-
The interior helm position is a low-key affair, furnished to blend into the saloon rather than stand out as a command center. Engine instrumentation is set in a birds eye maple finished fascia.
Galley-
All but completely tucked away from the saloon, the galley still benefits from the same exacting standards of joinery work as the rest of the boat. A circular twin sink and drainer are inset in the longer surface , with all electric cooking arrangements comprising of a two-ring ceramic hob and combi microwave/oven at the far end. Set beneath the perspex-fronted crockery stowage in the aft bulkhead is a good sized fridge with a freezer. Stowage is well thought out with a good array of cupboards and drawers as well as a handy wine rack. There is also an extractor fan fitted above the hob.
Dinette-
Borrowing light from the windscreen, the dinette is a convivial dining spot with comfortable seating for 4 and at a squeeze even 6. With the table dropped and an infill slid into place, you can make an extra 7ft x 3ft 3in berth.
Forward cabin-
The forward cabin is spacious despite the double berth being 5ft wide and 6ft 3in long! similar to a queen sized bed. The joiners have been prodigious in the number of cupboards and drawers provided, which include a full height hanging locker and nicely built in dressing tables flanking the berth.
Forward Heads-
The forward heads has a door from the forecabin, to make it en-suite, but there is also access from the saloon area and it is the small lobby area created by this second doorway that forms a canny separate shower cubicle, being shut off by the rest of the compartment when necessary by a folding screen.
Aft suite-
The central double berth in the aft cabin is not as generous as that in the forecabin, but is still most adequate at 6ft 1in long by 4ft 3in wide. Good attention to detail on joinery fit out means there are plenty of cupboards as well as a decent sized corner wardrobe. The deckhead is attractively finished and the whole area enjoys plenty of headroom. The same goes for the en-suite toilet compartment with is also equipped with a shower.
